Carla gets ready for showbiz

Sino ang hindi pa nakakakilala kay Carla Abellana? Well, she’ll soon be a household name as she takes on her first TV project -- ang Pinoy adaptation ng Mexican telenovela na "Rosalinda." Carla Abellana is the daughter of Rey "PJ" Abellana, a matinee idol from the 1980s. Kwento nga ni Carla, "Growing up, I would see his projects. Napapanood ko siya. I would see how great he is an actor; napaka-hardworking naman ng daddy ko.
"But it was never him who influenced me, or encouraged me to enter [show business]." Carla says she was always told to focus sa studies niya. "Never akong tinulak na mag-show business, [pero] never din naman ako pinagbawalan at the same time." Dagdag pa niya, "When [my dad] found out that I was about to enter show business, he was actually very excited. Gusto pa niyang i-guide ako, because he knows a lot about show business already." Carla stresses that entering the world of entertainment was her decision alone. "It was such a big decision," she finishes. Hindi lingid sa kaalaman ni Carla that there's a mean side of showbiz. Hindi lahat ng tao ay magugustuhan siya, at hindi lahat ay kayang niyang i-please but she still decided to pursue a career in this industry. "Unang-una, it's learning. That's what I say nga, I have a lot to learn. To act pa lang, mahirap na yan; kailangan kong pagsikapan." Of course, she’s grateful to be given the chance to be in front of the camera. "It's an opportunity that was extended to me. Not a lot of people are given such an opportunity. A lot of people would do anything to enter show business. ‘Yung sa akin, gladly talaga siyang in-offer [and] I gladly accepted also. I joined show business because in life you only get offered such a big opportunity once." But of course, hindi maiiwasan ang inggit at sama ng loob—lalo na sa loob ng mundo ng showbiz. Kaya naman, to prevent from ruffling any feathers, Carla has a motto she wants to follow: "To be myself, [and] to be kind to others." Watch out for this lovely young lady when she makes her small screen debut with the Filipino version of Rosalinda, soon on GMA Telebabad.
