Sunshine Dizon, hindi sanay magbakasyon

These days Sunshine Dizon is everywhere. Mapapanood mo siya sa "All About Eve," sa "Bubble Gang" at kahit sa "SOP!" Bakit nga ba napaka-visible ni Sunshine Dizon lately? Alamin natin from her mismo. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio. When Sunshine Dizon ended last year with only OBRA and Sundo as her projects, nangako siya sa sarili niya that the next year will be different. And it certainly is. Sa pagpasok ng 2009, Sunshine has become a fixture sa mga television sets. With All About Eve every weeknight, Bubble Gang every Friday night and SOP tuwing Sunday, hindi nauubusan nang pagkakataon na makita si Sunshine sa TV. "We all know naman that I sort of rested for about a year last year," Sunshine notes during the press set visit sa All About Eve nung April 2 sa new building ng GMA Network, kung saan kinukunan ang ilang scenes ng soap. She continues, "Ang prayer ko lang naman talaga na paulit-ulit nang pumasok ang taon, [is that] I can go back to the old routine. Because ever since naman hindi ako nabakante, simula nung sa kasimula-simulaan e 'di talaga ‘yan napatid. Kung may pahinga, ilang buwan lang. It’s the first time in my whole life na almost a year na [wala akong ginagawa]." Sunshine says na hindi naman daw sa walang ino-offer sa kanya. It's just that nagkaroon ng mga circumstances na kinailangan niyang ipagpaliban ang kanyang career for her own sake. "I was supposed to do Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan," she reminds us. Sabi niya, the soap was supposed to run for six months, and coupled with OBRA and the shoot for Sundo. Kung natuloy raw ang soap, hindi na naman siya nagkaroon ng pahinga, especially since habol ang shoot ng All About Eve back in February. "Kung hindi nawala 'yung Gaano Kadalas, wala din akong pahinga -- dire-diretso." Bukod sa mga pangyayari last year, Sunshine says na never daw siyang humingi ng extended break from work. "Ever since naman ako, kahit tinatanong n’yo ako kung gusto ko ba magpahinga, magbakasyon, sinasagot ko hindi kasi hindi ako sanay. The most that I can rest is about two weeks, and after two weeks, boredom hits me again and I really want to work again." Nowadays, sa tatlong shows mapapanood si Sunshine pero she notes that it's more of two shows and a homecoming. "Actually, I don't know if people remember, but I used to host talaga for SOP way, way back. I was one of the [first hosts] but I had to stop for a while before kasi my schedule wouldn't permit anymore. Now, I’m super enjoying doing it kahit may taping kami ng Sabado…Sobrang happy ako ‘pag nage-SOP." At enjoy rin si Sunshine sa Bubble Gang. She says na ipinagpaliban pa nga raw niya ang pagiging tourist sa Singapore nung nag-shoot sila doon for All About Eve. "Sa totoo lang, kailangan kong makauwi ng maaga kasi may taping ako for Bubble Gang." Biruin n’yo 'yun? Ngayon, Sunshine is just thankful na steady ang work niya. "God has given me more than what I prayed for nang pumasok ang [work this year]." That's because, according to her, may binabayaran siyang house and a car, reasons enough para magpursige pa siyang lalo sa kanyang trabaho. But instead of looking tired, parang lalo pa ngang blooming si Sunshine these days. As the actress herself said, hiyang siya sa trabaho.
