READ: John Feir credits his background in TV production for being a better artist

Top Kapuso comedian John Feir is staying put with GMA Artist Center after he renewed his contract this Wednesday morning, November 13.

John has been with the talent management arm of the Kapuso Network since 2005.

Present during his contract renewal are GMA Assistant Vice President for Talent Imaging and Marketing Simoun S. Ferrer and Senior Talent Manager Tracy Garcia.

In his interview with the GMA Press people before the contract signing started, he expressed his gratitude to his home network and Artist Center for the opportunities given to him throughout the years.

“Masayang-masaya po ako at ilang taon na rin po ako sa Artist Center and sa GMA at 'yung binibigay po nila sa akin ay walang katapat na kasiyahan.”

Before John became an on-cam talent, he used to work behind the scenes in several TV programs.

John was a production assistant in Lunch Date (1986) and Salo-Salo Together (1993). Later on, he became the executive producer of That's Entertainment.

The brilliant Kapuso comedian said that he learned a lot from being part of the production team that made him a better artist.

“Bago ako umapak sa GMA, ano po ako Mass Comm [graduate] po ako sa FEU. Nagsimula ako sa stage. nung pumasok ako sa GMA sa production [ako napunta] at malaking tulong 'yun sa pagiging artista, kasi nalaman ko lahat.

“Natutuwa ako na lahat na pu-puwede ipagawa sa akin sa GMA puwede kong gawin.”

Lastly, John said, “Napaka-worth it po! Marami po ako natutunan sa GMA, most especially sa off-cam po ako marami po ako natutunan. At lalong nasa on-cam na ako marami pa ako natutunan at mas marami pa ako matutunan.”
