WATCH: Black Eyed Peas ready to rock the SEA Games closing ceremony

Award-winning group Black Eyed Peas will be performing at the closing ceremony of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, today, December 11, at the New Clark City Athletic Stadium in Capas, Tarlac.

In a post on the 2019 SEA Games Facebook page, it was revealed that the three original members of the group - apl.de.ap, will I am, and Taboo will have a reunion of sorts at the event, while Fergie will not perform with them.

Instead, they will be joined by Jessica Reynoso, the group's newest member.

Although busy with touring, the group really tried to squeeze the performance in their schedules for they want to be a part of the momentous event.

Yesterday, members apl.de.ap, will I am, together with the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) and Philippine Olympic Committee held a press conference.


“It's going to be party vibe, Black Eyed Peas hits, and of course, some of the Tagalog songs in the albums,” said rapper apl.de.ap, whose Filipino ties was the primary reason the band was picked, to the members of the media.

He added: “It's going to be a celebration for the athletes that gave their all.”

Rapper will.i am, on the other hand, paid tribute to the athletes and his co-member apl.

“Being here in the SEA Games, it's an honor,” will I am said.

“Knowing where apl comes from, how hard he's worked. All of the sacrifices, all of his hurdles, and as his brothers we support him and this awesome culture. You know, this is amazing,” he added.

When asked what Black Eyed Peas song they would dedicate to the Philippines, will.i.am answered their hit song “I Got A Feeling.”

“As far as dreams, and being all that you can be, and hoping for the best, I would pick 'I Got A Feeling,” will I am stated.
