WATCH: Michael V. receives signed book from 'Star Wars' star Anthony Daniels

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Bubble Gang star Michael V. got to sit down with the legendary Anthony Daniels, the actor of the iconic Star Wars character C-3PO, during the press junket of the epic space-opera flick Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

In the interview, Bitoy was able to ask the British actor what were the notable differences he observed from making the first three Star Wars film to the new ones.

The actor replied, “Well the original trilogy was historic. Only the cameraman could see what was being filmed. They had to rely on dailies which would arrive in the desert two days afterward to see if they need to reshoot something.

“Now, everybody could watch what was going on in big plasma screens surrounding us. And green screen now is a little more tame than what it was.

“So in The Rise of Skywalker, JJ Abrams has used green screens when it was absolutely necessary but not all the time. We had sets in the studio that made my jaw drop. To go and touch something that wasn't real but looks real… And the magic of these artists who can do this was a real thrill for me.”

In true Bitoy fashion, Michael presented the legendary actor with a present: a Japanese rice bowl. To which he quipped, “You know what you could use it for? The 'rice' of Skywalker.”

After a few chuckles, Anthony returned the favor by presenting Michael with a signed copy of his book, “I am C-3PO.”
