Kapuso Comedy Queen Aiai Delas Alas calls this Netflix film blasphemous.

Kapuso comedy queen Aiai Delas Alas took to social media on Saturday (December 21) to call out the producers of The Temptation of Christ to be banned on Netflix.

According to the comedienne, the film is a “sacrilege” and a “blasphemy” to the Catholic Church.

She wrote, “Patawarin mo po sila LORD...sino man ang gumawa nito masusunog kayo sa impyerno #sacrilege #blasphemy”

The post was accompanied by an online petition to stop showing the film on the popular streaming site.

In a follow-up post, Aiai further explained that she took an oath to defend the Catholic Church upon receiving a Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice (Papal Award) back in 2016 -- the highest award given by the Pope to lay people.

The First Temptation of Christ is a Brazilian web television special produced by the comedy troupe Porta dos Fundos which features Jesus returning home after 40 days in the desert. Little does he know that a surprise 30th birthday party awaits him. The 46-minute film shows Jesus having a gay lover and his mother Mary smoking marijuana.

Aiai is not the only one who called out the so-called Christmas special.

According to Business Insider, conservative groups from around the world have been calling Netflix for its removal nearing 2 million signatures since its release.

However, Fabio Porchat, the co-founder of the comedy group remains unfazed by the critics.

In an interview for Variety magazine, he said that the criticism was entirely “homophobic.”

“For some Catholics here in Brazil, it's okay if Jesus is a bad guy, uses drugs, that's no problem,” he said.

“The problem is he's gay. No, he can't be gay. And that's interesting because Jesus is everything. God is black and white and gay and straight. God is everything. It's more homophobic to be insulted by a gay Jesus than to make Jesus special.”

As of writing, Netflix hasn't removed the content after its backlash.
