Aicelle Santos and Alden Richards big winners in GEMS Awards

Singer Aicelle Santos leads GMA-7 in the list of awardees for the 4th GEMS (Guild of Educators, Mentors, and Students) Awards 2019.

Aicelle bested the other nominees for Best Actress (Tanghalan) for her role in 'Himala: Isang Musikal.'

Several GMA News and Public Affairs personalities and shows were also awarded including Unang Hirit for Best News Program, Ivan Mayrina for Best Male News Program Anchor, and Suzi Entrata-Abrera for Best Female News Program Anchor.

Pusuan ang Totoo: Eleksyon 2019 Special Coverage was also honored by taking home the Best TV Special Award. I-Juander landed in the top four awardees for Best TV program and Cesar Apolinario also landed in the top four spot for the Best TV Program Host award.

Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards took home the Best Actor in a TV series for The Gift. Family History, Michael V's masterpiece, was also given the special award Natatanging Pelikulang Pampamilya.

The awards night was held on the 13th of February at the Laguna BelAir Science School in Sta Rosa.

Founded in April 2016, GEMS is an award-giving body that recognizes outstanding achievements in the fields of print, stage, radio, television, and film.
