LOOK: 'Mia' producers to donate to the victims of Taal Volcano eruption

Days after the Taal Volcano eruption, the producers of the film “Mia” starring Edgar Allan Guzman and Coleen Garcia has decided to donate all net proceeds of today's screening (January 17) to the victims of Taal.

The news was announced by Chris Cahilig himself on his Facebook Page.

He wrote, “The producers of the film 'Mia' have decided to donate all the net proceeds of today's screening (Friday) to the victims of the Taal volcano eruption.

“We urge you to support the campaign by watching the film today with your family and friends.”

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Veronica Velasco, “Mia” is a romantic comedy film about a doctor Mia Salazar (Garcia) and a nerdy forester Jay Policarpio (Guzman).

Jay, who transforms mined-out land into rainforests, pursues the self-destructive alcoholic, Mia, who recently joined the government's Doctor To The Barrios program to heal from the tragedy of her fiance's death.

“Mia” is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
