JUST IN: Willie Revillame renews contract with GMA, plans to bring the fun every Saturdays with 'Wowowin Primetime'
A happy Willie Revillame entered the Kapuso network earlier today as he renewed his contract with GMA.
Together with his staff, the Wowowin host signed his contract with the presence of GMA's Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, and President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit Jr.
During his interview with Aubrey Carampel, Willie shared that GMA felt like a second home to him after staying with the network for almost five years.
“Dito sa GMA, e, parang niyayakap ka.
“Dito nararamdaman mo 'yung concern at saka dito nagkakaisa ang lahat e. Ang sarap ng feeling dito, kasi lahat ng makakasalubong mo binabati ka.
“Siyempre, very supportive rin ang management -- of course si Mr. Gozon, Mr. Duavit, Mr. Yalong -- lahat, not just the bosses. Maganda rito may unity, nagkakaisa at nagmamahalan.”
During the contract signing, it was announced that Willie will be adding another day of fun to our fellow Kapuso with Wowowin Primetime which will air every Saturday starting February 15.
“Mondays to Fridays tayo 'di ba? That's the contract nang one year and what we did with this one is an additional day,” he tells the press.
“Ginawang Wowowin Primetime which will start on February 15, alas-siyete ng gabi. So, anim na araw na po magpapasaya ang Wowowin, anim na araw na pong magbibigay saya, ligaya, at pagmamahal sa ating mga kapwa.”
Aside from the additional airing day, Willie also announced the revival of the hit segment “The Will to Win.”
“Nandun din ang 'The Will to Win' kung saan lahat ng talents na gusto sumali, ito na ang venue at entablado para sa inyo.
“Medyo mabigat [ngayon] kasi sobrang dami ng sumali [sa auditions]. Ang grand prize kasi two million in cash, isang kotse, and a brand new house and lot. Ibibigay ng Wowowin ang lahat ng kailangan mo, kasi sa tingin ko na kung magbibigay ka ng tulong, ibigay mo na ang lahat.
“Kaya kung magaling kang kumanta, sumayaw, mag-acrobatics, kahit ano pang talent mo na gusto mong ipakita sa mundo at sa ating mga kababayan, dito sa GMA at sa Wowowin mo ipakita yan. Very open tayo.”
With the additional programming at hand, the press couldn't help but ask if he ever feels tired.
He coyly answered, “Wala ka namang mararamdamang kapaguran kung nagbibigay ka ng saya, ligaya, at pag-asa sa iyong mga kababayan especially kung nararamdaman mo 'yung pagmamahal ng kapwa mo sa iyo.”
Wowowin airs every Monday to Friday, 5:30 pm, before 24 Oras.
