Manilyn, may sikretong ayaw sabihin

Sa "All My Life," isang mother figure si Manilyn Reynes without the hassles of actually being one—pero in real life, she's celebrating motherhood with a new album. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Manilyn Reynes's role in All My Life is a very supportive character: "Medyo older kay Zoren [Legaspi], ako 'yung ate niya na mag-aalaga sa pamangkin ko nung medyo nadepress-depress 'yung wife niya." Bilang si Sally Estrella, isang matandang dalaga who dotes on her niece, Manilyn shares that she likes her role very much. "She's very conservative, she has words of wisdom na nai-impart niya—mabait siyang kapatid para akuin ang responsibilidad ng pagpapalaki [ng pamangkin]. And natutuwa ako kasi it's something different—it's more mature." Dagdag pa niya, Sally is there to be the guide for Romina (Kris Bernal) dahil nga wala masyadong presence ang mga magulang nito sa buhay niya. "Siyempre teenager, hindi mo maiiwasan minsan [na] may kalokohan, minsan kahit hindi naman sila ang may gawa, nadadamay, nasasangkot [ka]. I feel really sorry and bad for her kapag ganoon ang nangyayari. So parang, in a way, itinutuwid ko. "Nalulungkot ako kapag may nangyayari na ganoon sa kanya, [and] I am happy for her every time she feels happy and she is well." Pero kahit na mukhang good guy si Sally ngayon, Manilyn teases na all is not what it seems when it comes to her character: "Mayroon lang akong little secret, which will be revealed [later on in the story]." Sa ngayon, Manilyn has no plans of revealing what that secret is. But she is willing to lay down her plans for the month of July for us! "My album is coming out soon—very soon," na-share sa amin ng isang masayang-masaya na Manilyn. "I'll just leave for Canada [this] July, and then pagbalik ko ilo-launch na namin." Called Manilyn, Loving Mom, the album will feature five songs—one of which has been getting online plays through Manilyn's social networking sites. Other songs include 'More Than You'll Ever Know,' 'Come in from the Rain,' and 'Wind Beneath My Wings.' "Ang tema [ng album] is love songs which you can sing to and for your children." Sa kuwento ni Manilyn, she is presenting a different way of hearing popular love songs: "Kasi 'pag inisip mo na 'I love you more than—' kala mo pang person lang na boyfriend or girlfriend, but 'pag nabasa mo, parang gusto mong sabihin to [your] kids." Manilyn is clearly very happy about the turnout of her album. She explains, "Kasi, just like the role na ginagampanan ko ngayon, it's more mature than the usual songs, the usual albums na ginagawa." And that is something that clearly gives her album an advantage sa record bars—but nevertheless, she'll still promote it. As soon as she gets back from Canada, that is. Ano ba gagawin niya doon? "I'm doing this series of shows in Canada with Tito Germs and John Nite. Actually we're going to Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Victoria, B.C." Well, mga Kapuso from Canada, abangan niyo na si Manilyn diyan! As for the rest of us, we'll just have to content ourselves with All My Life to have some Manilyn in our lives.
