The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) spearheads the annual celebration of National Arts Month with its new music ambassador Julie Anne San Jose.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), led by its chairman Arsenio J. Lizaso, executive director Al Ryan S. Alejandre, and deputy executive director Marichu G. Tellano, through its Subcommission on the Arts (SCA) headed by Commissioner Teddy O. Co, spearheads the annual celebration of National Arts Month with its new music ambassador Julie Anne San Jose.

Dubbed as Asia's Pop Diva, Julie Anne San Jose was first seen on television when she joined and became one of the finalists in Eat Bulaga's Little Miss Philippines when she was three years old. In 2005, she joined Popstar Kids and eventually became part of GMA's Sunday show, SOP and Party Pilipinas. She released her self-titled album in 2012. She received multiple awards such as 24th Aliw Awards - Best Teen Performer in 2011; 43rd Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Awards - Promising Female Singer/Performer and 60th FAMAS Awards - German Moreno Youth Achievement Award in 2012; 5th PMPC Star Awards for Music - Female Pop Artist of the Year and New Female Recording Artist of the Year, 26th Awit Awards - Best R&B, 9th USTv Students Choice Awards - Best Local Music Video Artist, Yahoo! Philippines OMG! Awards - Female Performer of the Year, and 8th MYX Music Awards - Favorite Mellow Video for "I'll Be There" in 2013; Spinnr Hitlist Award 2014 - Best Indie Artist, ASAP19 24k Gold Award - Female Artist Awardee, ASAP 10th Platinum Circle Award - Female Artist Awardee, Catholic Mass Media Awards - Best Secular Song (Pagbangon), Yahoo! Celebrity Awards - Song of the Year, UE Gawad Lualhati Awards - Inspiring Artist Of The Year in 2014; 28th Await Awards - Best Selling Album of the Year for "Deeper" and 10th MYX Music Awards - Favorite Mellow Video for "Right Where You Belong" in 2015; Female Pop Artist Of The Year - PMPC Star Awards For Music in 2017; and 66th FAMAS Awards - German Moreno Youth Achievement Award in 2018.

Pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation 683, signed in 1991, February is declared as National Arts Month. The celebration is expected to be filled with various events and activities that show the boundless creativity of Filipinos all over the country led by NCCA's Subcommission on the Arts (SCA), with its seven national committees--Architecture and Allied Arts, Cinema, Dance, Literary Arts, Music, Dramatic Arts, and Visual Arts.

This year's National Arts Month celebration will hold an opening ceremony all over the country-- Rizal Park in National Capital Region; Puerto Princesa, Palawan in Luzon; Ormoc, Leyte in Visayas; and Tangub, Misamis Occidental in Mindanao. The seven national committees will also have their own flagship projects.
