Angel Locsin, Frankie Pangilinan, other celebrities condemn Senator Koko Pimentel

Angel Locsin, Frankie Pangilinan, an other celebrities take to social media their indignation towards Senator Koko Pimentel for violating quarantine protocols as a person under investigation (PUI) for COVID-19.

Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III earned the ire of netizens for accompanying his pregnant wife, Kathryna Yu-Pimentel, to Makati Medical Center despite being a PUI for the new coronavirus disease.

A statement from the hospital claimed that the senator breached their infection and containment protocols, with the latter testing positive of COVID-19 and insisting to enter their premises.

Celebrities found the senator's act as deplorable and expressed their sentiments via their social media pages.

Angel apologized via Twitter for campaigning for the senator and promised never to support the politician again.

On one of her posts, the actress said, "Naka-ilang eleksyon na rin naman pong hindi naulit."

Meanwhile, Frankie was enraged and at a loss for words.

Agot Isidro noted how the senator's irresponsible action is proof of the government's incompetence to lead and earn the trust of the Filipinos.

She said, “At gusto ninyo kami magtiwala sa gobyerno? Ang gobyernong ito ang papatay sa atin.”

She also drew attention to the senator using his privilege at the expense of other people.

Jake Ejercito echoed his sentiment and pointed at the double standards of justice in the Philippines which favors the rich and persecutes the poor.

He wrote, “Poor is guilty until proven innocent, rich is innocent until proven guilty.”

Film director Kip Oebanda and artist Juan Miguel Severo not only expressed their disapproval towards Koko, they also encouraged their followers not to forget and to demand for accountability.
