By Cara Emmeline Garcia

In line with the observance of the Catholic Church's Lenten season, GMA Network will be rolling out an inspiring and heartwarming program line-up this coming Maundy Thursday (April 9), Good Friday (April 10), and Black Saturday (10).

On Good Friday, you are invited to listen to the continuation of the April 2020 general conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 5:00 am to 8:00 am. This will be followed by Power to Unite with Elvira where they will discuss the teachings and life of Jesus Christ and how it relates to the Lenten season.

Kids are in for a treat as “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” and “Joseph: King of Dreams” air at 9:00 am and 10:30 am, respectively.

By noon, we tune in to our spirituality and reflect on the last seven statements given by Jesus Christ on the cross before his death. Locally known as “Siete Palabras,” let us be reminded how these seven powerful words carved the way for God to forgive our sins with the guidance of the priests from Sto. Domingo Church.

In the afternoon, catch the story of Jewish high priest Caiaphas who organized a plot to kill our Savior in “Jesus His Life: Caiaphas,” voiced by Kapuso actor Edgar Allan Guzman.

At 3:30 pm, watch The Perkins Twins, Jesse and Christian, together with Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin in the inspirational movie, “Kaibigan”. The story depicts the beautiful journey towards personal transformation and restoration of relationships among family members.

Understand how Judas's action led to Jesus's crucifixion and death in “Jesus His Life: Judas,” voiced by GMA's very own Martin del Rosario at 5:00 pm.

By 5:30 pm, watch CBN Asia's special feature titled, “Suklob” starring Kapuso actor, Kristoffer Martin.

Step in the shoes of Roman governor Pontius Pilate in “Jesus His Life: Pilate,” voiced by Kapuso comedian and actor Paolo Contis at 7:00 pm.

GMA also offers the American epic biblical drama film, “Son of God” at 7:30 pm, which retells the life of Jesus from conception to his resurrection.

Relive the days of ancient Rome in the epic drama film “Ben-Hur” at 10:00 pm starring Jack Huston who plays Judah Ben-Hur, a prince falsely accused of treason who returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but finds redemption.

Amid the growing concerns at the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, let us all be reminded that as we are united to Christ and we are never alone.

Spend a fruitful and meaningful Lenten season together with your loved ones, and at the comfort of your own home, with these Holy week specials only on GMA.
