By Dianara Alegre

Officials of Philippine General Hospital (PGH) thanked actress Dawn Zulueta for the boxes of face masks and DIY shields she sent to the hospital.

Dawn reposted the PGH's appreciation post on her Instagram account on Tuesday.

She said of the donation, “In solidarity, and prayers for all our self-sacrificing frontliners and patients.”

The actress donated eight boxes of DIY face shields on top of her initial donations to the hospital.

She also shared how people can send their donations to the said institution.

For weeks now, Dawn has been using her platform to raise funds for the benefit of health workers. She's also active in uplifting the spirit of the public especially in these challenging times where the world is facing the threat of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Meanwhile, in a bid to curb the spread of the disease, the government has put Luzon under enhanced community quarantine, which requires the closure of Metro Manila from nearby cities and/or provinces, suspension of all mass transportation, strict compliance of home quarantine, closure of establishments, suspension of work, and an 8:00 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew until April 12.
