
Last March 21, news of Japanese voice actor Hiroshi Masuoka's death circulated online. According to reports, the actor passed away from rectal cancer at the age of 83.
Anime fans may be familiar with his body of work as he brought life to popular characters in famous animes such as Mobile Suit Gundam, Cyborg 009, DragonBall Z, Ranma ½, Anpanman, and Voltes V.
His most popular and well-loved character was Kame Sennin or Master Roshi from the DragonBall series.
Hiroshi Masuoka was born in the Saitama prefecture on August 7, 1936. He started his voice acting career in the anime Wolf Boy Ken as Kuma. Aside from being a voice actor, Hiroshi Masuoka is also a rally car driver.
It was only last year when he decided to retire from his voice acting roles due to his advanced age.
Since news of his passing became known, fans have shared their sentiments online.

In other Voltes V news, GMA's live adaptation series of the beloved anime have announced the postponement of its production due to rising cases of coronavirus in the country.
The mandate was in effect after the announcement of an enhanced community quarantine last March 13. In the post, GMA Network has announced that it would suspend the production of its drama shows and other entertainment programs by March 15.
