Irene and Seulgi to debut as Red Velvet's first sub-unit

South Korean girl group Red Velvet will have its first unit six years since its debut.
"Seulgi and Irene are preparing their first unit album. The release date will be revealed once it is finalized," SM Entertainment said, as reported by Korean news site Soompi.
Prior to their debut, Irene and Seulgi tested their chemistry as a unit during their S.M.ROOKIES days, as 'SR14G Seulgi & Irene'.
Red Velvet debuted last August 1, 2014, under SM Entertainment.
