By Bianca Geli

Pinay nurse Arlou Anne Klein Santiago-Manganti was a healthcare frontliner in Paris, France during the COVID-19 pandemic when she tested positive for the coronavirus.

In a recent episode of "Frontliners," a Brigada special online series, Klein shared her experience at the hospital and released the videos she recorded for her family just in case she does not recover.

"If ever na something happened to me, something like that, nag-video na ako ng mga ganu'n."

"Ina-update ko 'yung family ko through videos and after that, parang mayroon din akong videos na parang saying na, 'Probably this will be my last video,'" she said.

Luckily, Klein survived the pandemic and shared good news of her recovery.

She wrote on Instagram, "God works in His Amazing Way. I'm grateful to be able to survived 24 hrs. without Oxygen!

"It's such a privilege to be normal when just few days ago I was so scared and worried if I can be able to make it.

"Truly nothing is impossible in prayers and trusting the people who are helping us to get rid of this virus.

"I'm fortunate to be able to breath normally again. Just to breath normally like what you have right is a big blessing to count! Let's say, Thank you Lord!"

Klein also spoke in a public briefing for Laging Handa, the Philippine government's crisis communication center.

She said, "Do not underestimate this coronavirus. From my experience, hindi siya ganun kadaling i-beat.”

“Ganu'n pala kahirap huminga. Parang mag-move ka lang, hindi ka makapag-move kasi uubuhin ka.

"Hindi ka makakagalaw nang masyado. Pupunta ka lang sa toilet, hindi mo kaya na walang oxygen."

Klein also shared that COVID-19 is not just a simple fever, headache, and cough as the disease can "degrade" the patient's respiratory system.
