Upcoming superhero film The Batman starring English actor Robert Pattinson has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The movie was expected to hit theaters on June 25, 2021 but film distributor Warner Bros. has announced that it will instead be released on October 1, 2021.

The Batman started filming in London back in January but has paused production on March 14 due to concerns over COVID-19.

The movie will be an origin story but will focus on a younger Batman who has emotional and psychological struggles before he becomes the Caped Crusader.

It is directed by Matt Reeves and will feature a huge ensemble cast including Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Jayme Lawson, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell.
