Camarines Sur vice governor and OPM icon Imelda Papin found herself at the top of the trending list on Twitter Philippines today, April 25 for what seems to be the wrong reasons.

In case you didn't know, she lent her voice to the song "Iisang Dagat" which was written by Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian.

According to the Facebook post of the Chinese Embassy in Manila, the music video is dedicated to all those who contributed to the fight against the epidemic from both countries.

"China and the Philippines have been supporting and helping each other during the challenge of COVID-19 outbreak, demonstrating a new era partnership of mutual support during trying times and the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind advocated by the Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping," read a post on the Chinese Embassy Manila Facebook page.

"This original music video 'Iisang Dagat' is dedicated to those who contributed to our fight against the epidemic from both countries, especially the China Medical Expert Team to the Philippines."

But a quick check on the YouTube page ChinaTown TV shows that majority of netizens who reacted did not approve of the COVID-19 tribute. The said video has received 26,000 dislikes at this writing.

People on Twitter called the music video "distasteful" and some sort of "propaganda," and are disappointed with Imelda Papin's decision to be part of it.

Still, there also those who showed support for the "Iisang Dagat" music video.
