Anong naghihintay para kay Eunice?

Sa kanyang portrayal bilang Eunice sa "Stairway to Heaven," Glaiza de Castro was able to show to everyone just how versatile an actress she is. Sa Thanksgiving Mass ng Stairway to Heaven last November 26, Glaiza de Castro tells the press na she's happy with her role sa show. And nang matanong siya about her very effective portrayal of Eunice, ito ang sinabi niya: "For a long time, nakita ng mga tao that I've been playing protagonists." Glaiza says ngayong lang daw siya nakita ng mga tao na kakaiba talaga ang role. Dagdag niya, "I want lang din to show na kaya ko rin mag-play ng iba't ibang characters." After playing two consecutive kontrabida roles, in Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin, and then Stairway to Heaven, wala pa ring takot si Glaiza sa possibility na ma-typecast siya bilang villain. "Given the right project, alam ko naman na mare-redeem ko 'yung sarili ko from the antagonist roles na ginawa ko." Eunice can be anyone. After the mass, nakakuwentuhan ni Glaiza ang ilan sa mga present press people tungkol sa kanyang role. Isa sa mga napag-usapan ay ang possibility na may real-life Eunice—which Glaiza believes can be anybody. "Hindi man nila ginagawa [ang plots nila] exactly the way Eunice does it," sabi niya, "talagang they will hurt the person na umaagaw sa kung sino man 'yung mahal nila." Glaiza explains love is extreme—"lalong-lalo na sa mga tao na kagaya ni Eunice. They will try everything to get what they want." If it had been Glaiza in Eunice shoes though, kuwento ng dalaga, "'di naman ako papatay o sasagasa ng tao." Though, she admits, naiintindihan niya ang pinanggagalingan ni Eunice. "Minsan kasi, hindi madaling tumanggap [ng rejection] e." Glaiza continues, Eunice was brought up to love only Cholo. "There was a time na ayaw na niya, but her mother [continues] to push her towards Cholo." Kuwento niya sa amin, "tine-threaten ni Maita (Jean Garcia) si Eunice, si Zoila (Sandy Andolong)— "Kahit na ikaw, bilang Eunice, ayaw mo na talaga. Kasi katawan mo 'yung napapagod, wala ka nang pride." But with a mother like Maita who continues to push for what she wants, "siyempre wala ka ring choice kundi sundin yun." Pabirong dagdag ni Glaiza, "e gusto mo rin naman in a way, 'di ba?" No redemption. Ibinunyag na rin ni Glaiza sa press na walang redemption na makukuha si Eunice sa ending ng Stairway to Heaven, at isa ito sa mga dahilan kung bakit gustung-gusto niya ang show. "It's very different from typical drama 'di ba? Na babait 'yung [kontrabida] sa dulo, tapos magsasama sila happily ever after? This is what I like about sa show na ito—kasi iba siya talaga. Tragic." At masayang-masaya si Glaiza sa reception na nakukuha nila from the avid viewers of the show. "Ang daming affected, so nakakatuwa. Dahil, alam mo 'yung reception ng tao na very into the show, so nakakataba ng puso." Kuwento nga ni Glaiza, there are times na may magsasabi sa kanya na galit or inis sila sa kanya. "Pag nakikita nila ako, lagi nilang sinasabi, 'naiinis ako sa 'yo.' Pero nakangiti sila." Learning from Direk Joyce Sa success ng Stairway to Heaven, Glaiza says she has to attribute a large part of it sa napakagaling nilang director na si Bb. Joyce Bernal. Kuwento niya na hindi enough na memorized nila ang script when shooting. For Bb. Joyce, kailangan alam din nila kung saan nanggagaling ang eksena. "And she doesn't want us to act the way we acted it before." Tuloy ni Glaiza, "gusto niya, sa isang eksena, ganyan ginawa mo. Sa susunod na eksena, same situation pero different approach para hindi magsawa 'yung mga tao." Sa pagtatapos nga ng show, Glaiza says that one of the things she will miss about the show is the learning. "Like what Rhian said, every taping day talaga is a learning experience for us," Glaiza says, quoting Rhian Ramos who gave this statement during the press conference. Going back to how Direk Joyce always wants something different from them, Glaiza tells us na "ikaw mismo, natututo ka ng bago: bagong approach, bagong pananalita sa kinagisnan mo." She adds, "Mare-realize mo na 'I have to get out of my comfort zone to learn new things.' And dito, may mga times talaga na [I realize this]." Inamin ni Glaiza na may certain habit daw siya sa pag-deliver ng lines na may pagka-melodramatic and Direk Joyce has made her break out of it.
