K-pop artist Taeyeon to release postponed single 'Happy' following father's death

Korean singer Kim Taeyeon is releasing her upcoming single "Happy" on May 4, according to reports from Korean media outlet allkpop and Taeyeon's agency SM Entertainment.

Taeyeon was originally supposed to release the single on her birthday, April 9, but due to her father's sudden passing, the song release was postponed indefinitely.

"Happy" is an R&B song with lyrics about feeling overjoyed while spending time with loves ones. Taeyeon prepared the song as a special comeback gift for her fans.

Taeyeon is the leader of Korean girl group Girls' Generation.

She released her first solo EP (extended play) "I" in 2015 and her debut solo studio album My Voice in 2017.
