StarStruck says goodbye and thank you to Rye Burgos

Isang contender na naman ang nagpaalam last Sunday, December 13, sa "StarStruck V." Alamin kung ano ang saloobin ni Rye Burgos sa interview ng iGMA.tv. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Naomi V. Pitargue. Ang task na kailangan gawin ng StarStruck V contenders ay ang paggawa ng isang music video. This entails choosing the perfect song to showcase their vocals with the help of Professor Jai Sabas-Aracama, recording said song, and making a music video for the song. Matapos i-compute ang scores at ang votes (both mobile and from the internet), pinakilala ang bottom group last Sunday, and they were: Ian Batherson, Nina Kodaka and Rye Burgos. Earlier this season, the Factor Five was introduced, two of which have already been revealed. And the first factor states, three times in the bottom group will automatically mean elimination. At dahil this is Ian's second time sa bottom group, he only has one chance left to continue his journey to become the Ultimate Male Survivor. And that chance he will still have dahil it was Rye who was eliminated. Rye Burgos One of the Worldwide 8, applicants who auditioned sa iba't-ibang bansa, Rye Burgos is no longer a native sa Philippines. And though he is no longer in the running para sa Ultimate Male Survivor title, Rye has chosen na manatili na lang muna sa Pilipinas. "Magki-Christmas ako kasama [ng family ko], and New Year's." Kuwento niya sa amin after ng live elimination episode ng StarStruck V last December 13. He continues, "I'm gonna stay here until February." Pero hindi naman totally malungkot si Rye sa nangyaring elimination. "Kahit na natanggal ako, kuntento naman ako," he confesses. Dagdag niya, kahit ano pa man daw ang nangyari, naging masaya naman siya sa competition. He admits during the time na nasa stage sila ni Ian and Nina na ninerbyos siya. "Siyempre, kasi hindi ko alam kung sino ang makukuha." And after nang marami-raming tests rin na pinagdaanan nila, Rye tells us na medyo masakit rin ang ma-eliminate. "Pero at the same time, there's more good than bad [na nangyari]." Dagdag pa nga niya, "I did my best. I tried really hard." Kaya naman walang regrets si Rye sa competition. In fact, he even wishes his comrades good luck sa susunod pang mga challenges. "You know you guys all deserve it," paalala ni Rye sa kanyang mga kasama. "Even if you lose, you're still a winner." Pero mukhang may gusto rin siyang advice na iiwan sa isang unnamed survivor: "'Yung iba diyan, ‘wag na kayong mahiya: bigay-bigay lang kahit ano." The Bottom Group While this is Ian's second time sa bottom group, hindi nawala sa binata ang kaba na it's his time to leave the competition. Later on in the evening, Ian confessed na hindi na raw as nerve-wracking as the first time ang pagkakasama niya sa bottom group. Unlike daw kasi nung last time na he didn't know if it was his acting scores or his low votes ang nagpalagay sa kanya sa bottom group, this time Ian knows it's the latter. But there is also a silver lining, dahil as Ian notes, unti-unti nang nagpaparamdam ang fans niya sa competition and sa live elimination episodes. Biro nga niya sa kanyang growing fanbase, "Please grow faster." As for Nina, na first time pa lang napasama sa bottom group, first time pa lang daw makaranas ng halu-halong emotions. "'yung kaba, 'yung takot, lungkot, siyempre kung hindi ako matanggal, may matatanggal sa kanilang dalawa." At hindi na nagpaligoy-ligoy si Nina na nalungkot siya when Rye was eliminated. Sabi nga niya, "Siguro nakikita naman sa TV na siya 'yung pinaka-ayaw kong mawala." Nina even confesses, "Siya [si Rye] 'yung gusto ko maka-love team." Hindi rin masaya si Ian sa pagkakatanggal kay Rye. Pero hindi rin niya maikakaila na masaya siya that he gets to still stay in the competition. And for the next week, Ian and Nina promise that they will do their best still. Sabi nga ni Nina, "Kahit hindi ako marunong sumayaw, kahit medyo strict si Tito Douglas [Nieras], kakausapin ko siya na gusto ko maturuan para malaman niya po na hindi ako marunong kasi baka isipin niya na pa-easy-easy lang [ako]." As for Ian, he'll be campaigning even harder para madagdagan pa ang kanyang mga fans. Patuloy pa rin ang mga tests ng Final 12!
