Bianca Gonzalez, ipinaliwanag ang pagpapaliban ng branded post

Tila matagal nang kinimkim ng TV host and vlogger na si Bianca Gonzalez sa kanyang sarili ang dahilan kung bakit pansamantala siyang tumanggi sa obligasyon niyang mag-post tungkol sa mga produktong kanyang iniendorso.

Sa isang mahabang Instagram post kahapon, May 1, sinabi ng celebrity mom na malaki ang epekto ng COVID-19 crisis sa industriya na kanyang kinabibilangan, na tinawag niyang "non-essential."

Ani Bianca, "The industry I work in is sort of considered 'non-essential.' And I can imagine that everyone else with 'non-essential' jobs like me have had some sort of existential struggle the past few weeks.

"This quarantine/crisis/pandemic has been mentally, spiritually and financially tough.

"Everyday I am grateful for a home and our basic needs, which I know not everyone has the luxury of.

" I have been coping by being hyper-productive with my days [we all cope in different ways] and parang recollection ang nangyari sa akin in terms of thinking ano ba talaga ang values ko, ano ang purpose ko sa mundo, at ano ang mga mensahe na gusto kong iparating sa mga taong nagbabasa ng sinusulat ko o nanonood ng mga videos ko."

Dito ni-reveal ng asawa ng PBA cager na si JC Intal na hiniling niya sa brands na kanyang ini-endorso na pansamantalang i-postpone ang kanyang mga obligasyon patungkol sa "branded posts" simula nang mag-umpisa ang enhanced community quarantine noong Marso.

Dagdag ni Bianca na "hindi siya komportable" na kumikita sa mga post na ito samantalang maraming tao ang naghihirap.

Paliwanag niya, " At the start of the quarantine I politely begged off and asked for a postponement of any 'branded posts' and I am very grateful for the companies I work with, for understanding and supporting my request.

"At the start of all this, it felt morally unsettling for me to 'earn' 'just' by 'posting' [these are all in 'quotes' because it is more than what the words seem] habang madami ang nagugutom, natatakot, at nagkakasakit.

"As the weeks passed and everyone [IRL and on social media] was adjusting to the new normal, I was managing my fears about the future of the work that I do.

"Businesses have been adjusting and finding ways of how they can still operate and earn, and I realized na ako din, kailangan ko na ding mag-adjust at gawin ang trabaho ko sa paraan na alam ko."

Sa huli, humingi si Bianca Gonzalez ng permiso sa mga netizen na mag-popost na uli siya ng "branded content" bilang ito ay kanyang responsibilidad.

Nangako din ito na magiging responsable at maingat sa mga pino-post niya online.

"Sabi nga nila, hindi pwedeng puro out ang pera, kailangan may in din.

"I guess what this post is is a post asking for your permission, even if I know hindi naman kailangan; it's May 1, and in the coming days I will be fulfilling work and posting 'branded posts.'

"I guess this is also an accountability post for me to never post something out of touch and to adjust to the new normal along with everyone else."
