K-pop boy group DAY6 has announced they're temporary hiatus to focus on mental health as instructed by their agency, JYP Entertainment.

A statement from JYP Entertainment was released on May 10 regarding the members' mental health and details of the group's upcoming comeback and promotions.

Korean media outlet Soompi released the statement saying,

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment."

"First, we would like to apologize for delivering such unfortunate news on the eve of DAY6's comeback.

"Recently, some of the members showed symptoms of psychological anxiety and received a detailed examination.

"The medical advice was that they needed sufficient rest and stability. After careful discussions between the agency and the members, we resolved to temporarily suspend team promotions, including promotions for this upcoming album, in order to focus on recovering their health."

"We ask for your understanding in suddenly suspending promotions before the release of a new album.

"As an agency, we promise to do our best to put the members' health first and focus on improving their condition.

"We will notify you about the details of their return to promotions as the time comes.

"We ask for your support and love so that DAY6 can stand fully recovered as a team once again."

The group's new album, “The Book of Us: The Demon,” is scheduled to be released on May 11 and shall remain unchanged despite the group not
promoting the album.

DAY6 visited the Philippines in October 2018 and November 2019 for their Manila concerts.
