Suho officially enlists in the military today, becomes trending topic on Twitter

It's not a goodbye but a “see you later” for EXO-Ls, fans of K-pop group EXO, as the group's leader Suho officially enlists in the military today, May 14.

It was on May 4 when Suho announced the news through a handwritten letter to his fans on the Lysn app.

He said, “Hello to our EXO-Ls. This is Suho. I wanted to tell something to everyone today so I made this post. I'll be doing my mandatory military service soon on May 14. I think I will really miss our EXO-Ls during that time. Hoping EXO-Ls who think of me and love me every day to always be healthy.

“Thank you very much and I love you. We are one. EXO, Let's Love.”

His enlistment comes a week before he celebrates his 29th birthday on May 22nd.

On the eve of his enlistment, fans have already started paying tribute to their “best leader” as the hashtags, “#SUHO,” “Junmyeon,” “#Junmyeon_ThereIsSomethingCalledEternity_WeAreOne,” and “#Junmyeon_IsHappyWhenHeWaits” claimed the top 4 spots on Twitter.

Here are some of the fans' well-wishes to EXO's Suho:

Around 2 a.m. today (Philippine Time), May 14, Suho posted a short message to all his fans before his official enlistment.

On Instagram he posted a photo of a fan holding the EXO lightstick and captioned it with the words, “WE ARE ONE EXO. Lets Love.”

Suho is the third member of EXO to enlist in the military.

The first one was Xiumin who enlisted for his mandatory military service as an active-duty soldier on May 7, 2019. He was then followed by vocalist D.O. who enlisted on July 1.

Suho is expected to enlist as a public service officer today.
