Janine Gutierrez, masayang maraming nagtiwala sa kanyang COVID-19 fundraiser

By Marah Ruiz

"I think it was the first extension of the lockdown when we decided na we would just start a fundraiser. The proceeds that we would get from the fundraiser, we called it The Bright Side Project, we would half it between a drive for PPEs and a drive for underprivileged communities," kuwento ni Janine sa isang eksklusibong panayam ng GMANetwork.com.

"We decided to support two existing charities na lang--'yung sa Barya Ni Juan, sila 'yung gumagawa ng PPE and then the Tanging Yaman Foundation in Ateneo which was bringing food and providing shelter," dagdag pa niya.

"It's really about trust. Kasi when you give these fundraisings or these foundations money, how can you make them feel na 'I can assure you that this money you gave me will go here.' We just felt so grateful na talagang a lot of people trusted us to send their money the right way so as much as possible we kept updating, sending photos," kuwento niya.

"Inisip ko, how will they choose to donate when I know ang hirap nang magbigay 'di ba? A lot of us have no sweldo. A lot of us nakapag-donate na sa iba. As a thank you, we raffled off one item," aniya.
