Jackie Rice scales new heights with her FHM cover feature

GMA Artist Center's (GMAAC) prized talent, young actress Jackie Rice may well be on her way to superstardom as the New Year brings her career much promise. The beautiful Jackie Rice has set the tone of 2010 right gracing the cover of the country's premiere men's magazine FHM under Summit Media on its New Year salvo. This early, FHM editor-in-chief Allan Madrilejos says they are very happy with the reception of their January issue with Jackie Rice as the much-sought after cover girl. "We've started the year right judging from the public's enthusiastic response to Jackie. We're selling so well," Allan said, also revealing that Jackie has always been on top of FHM's most-requested cover girl list. "We're happy that finally, Ms. Ida Ramos-Henares of GMA Artist Center, gave us her nod and trusted us enough to give Jackie to us for the cover. Jackie, for her part, is also elated by the response of the public to her FHM feature. Jackie revealed that during the shoot in Boracay, she had nervous apprehensions when she was made to pose looking like she was topless in one lay out. Last year, Jackie's career started to pick up again as the young actress renewed her love affair with show business. "I realized I was not getting any younger and that I was actually squandering God-given opportunities by not taking my careeer seriously. Mabuti na lang nandiyan pa rin ang GMA to back me up," she said gratefully. Among her assignments last year was the top-rating Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin where she acted opposite the likes of Maxene Magalona and Glaiza de Castro; as well as her guest villain role in Darna where she was pitted against Marian Rivera. "Both roles were very challenging to me and I welcomed [them]," she said happily. And Jackie's career will continue to be on a roll this year! Currently, she can be seen on the late comedy sketch show Bubble Gang every Friday; but soon she will be starting her new project, as part of the much-awaited Panday Kids; a new series from GMA-7 that follows the story of the top-grossing Ang Panday. In Panday Kids, Jackie will play an pivotal role in the fight against good and evil. For now, Jackie said that she wants to focus on her career and give her love life a rest. I'm always hoping for the best," she said. But she also adds that "I am not closing my doors for love, please don't get me wrong. It's just that I know lang now that when the perfect time comes, the perfect guy will be there for me." -- Text courtesy of GMA Artist Center. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.
