Celebrities react to news about Philippines experiencing second wave of COVID-19 transmission

Celebrities take their thoughts and sentiments to social media following the revelation that the Philippines is already experiencing the second wave of the COVID-19 transmission.

Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III revealed during a Senate hearing on Wednesday, May 20, that the second wave of the new coronavirus disease is already happening in the country.

This news has taken aback a few celebrities who also expressed their reservations about this unfortunate development of the COVID-19 outbreak. This includes Janine Gutierrez, Frankie Pangilinan, Alessandra de Rossi, and K Brosas who all posted their sentiments on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Aiai Delas Alas and Sharon Cuneta shared their call to prayer.

DOH Secretary Duque explained that the first wave happened in January when three Chinese nationals from Wuhan were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

According to the DOH's latest update on May 20 as of 4 P.M., the Philippines has a total of 13,221 COVID-19 cases, with a total number of recoveries at 2,932, and total number of deaths at 842.
