Upcoming South Korean zombie film Peninsula starring Kang Dong-won and Lee Jung-hyun has been announced to be part of the Cannes Film Festival's 2020 Official Selection.

It is one of the 56 films which have been selected out of 2,067 which were up for consideration.

Other films from Asia include Heaven: To the Land of Happiness directed by Im Sang-soo from Korea, True Mothers directed by Naomi Kawase from Japan and Septet: The Story of Hongkong directed by Ann Hui, Johnnie TO, Tsui Hark, Sammo Hung, Yuen Woo-Ping and Patrick Tam.

Peninsula is the sequel to 2016 hit zombie movie Train to Busan.
