Nar Cabico has good things to say for GMA

A young LGBTQIA+ performer consulted Nar Cabico about auditioning for GMA Network. Here's what the singer and comedian told him.

Singer and comedian Nar Cabico revealed an exchange between him and a friend who happens to be a young LGBTQIA+ performer who wants to audition for GMA Network.

He shared a screenshot of their conversation on his Instagram account saying, "Dahil PRIDE Month naman, sharing this quick exchange with a young performer friend who happens to be gay.

"I hope and pray that one day, all that will truly matter is sustained hard work, talent, and compassion. May we strip off the labels and judgment of the previous society, and head towards our future with hands and hearts clasped."

Nar's friend expressed his hesitation to go through with the auditions because of rumors he heard about the network.

"Narrrrr. Hallo hehe sorry to bother you, question lang, how's your experience with GMA? Because they're holding auditions and I sorta wantttt hahahaha. And is it true they're homophobic?" his friend wrote to him.

Nar then assured his friend of his good experiences with the network.

"I had an amazing time with GMA. Your experience will highly depend on how much work and creativity you're willing to put, and how much patience you're ready to practice," he wrote back.

Nar also noted the inclusive atmosphere of the network.

"From my experience, wala akong na-encounter na homophobia, most especially because a lot of the people I worked with, from staff to directors to bosses, are proud gay men and women, trans, and straight allies," he said.

Nar also had a timely reminder for his friend.

"Whoever you heard that from, maybe you can help them understand that a TV network (or any major establishment really) can't function without the LGBT people. And while there are homophobes everywhere, you can't maneuver life trying to avoid them," he advised.

Nar also wished his friend luck for the auditions.

"Stay focused, be who you are, set your intentions straight, and love the process. Break a leg! Rooting for you," he wrote.
