Super Junior's Leeteuk praised by psychologist for managing the idol group for 15 years 

For more than a decade, Super Junior members Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun have maintained a lasting friendship and bond beyond being an idol.

But based on a study made by psychologist Song Hyeong-seok, the idol group wouldn't have lasted a year together based on their individual characteristics.

The revelation was made in the reality show Super Junior Returns 4 in the streaming app VLive where each member took the Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI) personality test which is designed to identify the relationships between seven basic personality dimensions of temperament and character, which create the unique personality of an individual.

Based on the results, Dr. Song was surprised to see how the personality of each member clashed with one another.

He said, “Because you're a successful idol group you're all very patient and you like something fun and interesting to be stimulated. But the problem is, none of you are socially sensitive and you don't have a strong sense of solidarity.

“So at first, I thought you might want to break up or go solo. I was like, 'Aren't they a team?'.”

To which Super Junior leader Leeteuk replied, “So just looking at the results, we shouldn't be here after 15 years. We should've disbanded after a couple of months. What do you think made it possible for us to come this far?”

Dr. Song firmly replied, “You've got an excellent leader.”

The psychologist pointed out that while there are other leadership characteristics present in each member, none of them could manage the group like Leeteuk.

Adding, “Because Shindong and Eunhyuk are authoritative, they would use their authority to lead the team. Siwon, on the other hand, would be lost. He wouldn't be good at pushing people. While Yesung would work hard if he was a leader but he would be exhausted because he thinks too much.

“You're all very different so you need someone who's very detail-oriented as a leader. Someone who can manage all of you and that's why Leeteuk is the most suitable leader here.”
