Ciara Sotto looks back on her 'T.G.I.S.' days
In the '90s, GMA's youth-oriented program T.G.I.S. introduced a pool of young, fresh-faced actors that became a household name in its four-year run.
From Angelu de Leon to Dingdong Dantes, T.G.I.S. opened the doors to many budding artists at the time--including Ciara Sotto.
A quarter of a century later, Ciara described that being part of the well-loved weekly television show has allowed her to become part of a family.
She told fans, “T.G.I.S. is one part of my life I will never forget and will be eternally grateful for.
“This iconic youth-oriented TV show is where I met so many wonderful people who are still my friends until now.
"We were more than just co-actors. Up until today, I still consider them family.”
Ciara said that while she was only 15 back then, T.G.I.S. has allowed her to grow as a person and go after her career in show business.
“I can say that this is where I grew up, matured, and learned how to really work hard and still have fun at the same time,” she penned.
“I never complained about not being able to sleep even when I had school. It was a condition my parents gave me. Yes, I could be an actress but I had to attend regular school too--which I did.
“I always looked forward to our shoot even if we got really tired from filming until dawn.”
She then called out to her co-actors by saying how she misses everyone and she hopes to see them soon.
Ciara Sotto was part of the second season of T.G.I.S., where she played a second-year high school student named Regina “Rain” Abrera who was linked to JM (played by Onemig Bondoc).
After T.G.I.S., Ciara moved to Growing Up and even starred in the drama series Halik Sa Apoy (1998) and 'Di Ba't Ikaw (1999).
By 2004, she became a host in Eat Bulaga and was often paired with dabarkad Paolo Ballesteros.
Today, Ciara keeps herself busy by being a mom to her son Crixus, doing cable shows, and being a pole dancing instructor.
