 MONSTA X

Time to tell every MONSTA X member: “Son cantantes maravillosos”

Filipinos are very familiar with Korean slang thanks to K-pop and K-dramas, but have you ever seen your favorite Korean stars speak a language that's very far from their own?

In the latest video of hello82, they've invited idol group, MONSTA X, to take on the Telephone Game where they'll each be passing Spanish words or phrases as best as possible and the final player must answer the question correctly based on what they heard.

With the help of Spanish-speaking natives, Kihyun, Shownu, Hyungwon, Changkyun, Minhyuk, and Jooheon try to mimic the meaning of each word to the best of their abilities.

Phrases like, “¿Tres mas cinco? (three plus five?),” “¿Quieres más a mamá o a papá? (Who do you love more, your mom or dad?),” and “El monta la bicicleta. (He rides the bicycle)” went by smoothly for the idols. While phrases like, “esparadrapo (bandage),” “¡Somos cantantes maravillosos! (We are marvelous singers),” and “¡Felicitaciones! Ganaste el juego. (Congratulations! You won the game),” proved to be a little difficult.

Nonetheless, each member was very eager to learn, most especially Hyungwon who kept saying the word “Si!” or “yes” with every word he passes on to Changkyun.

The video follows hello82's series “Try-lingual Live” where K-pop idols sing their hits in a different language. Like the Telephone Game, MONSTA X sang the Spanish versions of their songs, “Shoot Out,” “Follow,” and “Fantasia.”
