By Cara Emmeline Garcia

On June 30, 2019, a 30-year-old Vico Sotto was sworn in as Mayor of Pasig City marking his first day as the head of the city.

A year later, the millennial mayor couldn't help but look back at the year that was by posting a photo of himself holding a memento of his inauguration day.

Sotto said he re-watched his ceremonial speech and declared that while there were plans that need to be put on hold due to the COVID-19 crisis, he assured his constituents “tayo'y nasa tamang direksyon.”

During his oath-taking last year, the incumbent Pasig City Mayor was accompanied by his parents, Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes, at the Pasig City Sports Center.

During his speech, he continuously campaigned his platform called the “Big V” Agenda, which focuses on universal healthcare, housing programs, education, public consultation, and anti-corruption efforts.

Sotto is said to make a State of the City Address on Thursday, July 2, to report any updates regarding his programs to the city.

It will also mark the 447th anniversary of the city since its establishment in 1572.
