Migo Adecer calls himself lucky to be in Hong Kong during the pandemic

By Marah Ruiz

Kapuso actor Migo Adecer is currently in Hong Kong waiting out the COVID-19 pandemic.

He says that one of the things he is thankful for despite the pandemic is how well the country handled the health crisis.

"I thank Hong Kong for handling this pandemic like they did SARS and showing the proper techniques and being a role model on how you should handle a pandemic and still let your people roam around and enjoy their time out," Migo says in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com.

As of writing, Hong Kong has a total of 1,206 confirmed cases and seven deaths related to COVID-19.

Experts theorize that the citizens' habit of wearing masks in public places prevented the widespread transmission of the virus in Hong Kong.

Migo says that he is also thankful for his own foresight as his savings have allowed him to be prepared for the situation.

"I am thankful for my brain that saved money so that I wouldn't have to suffer in this pandemic," he shares.

He also wanted to give a special shoutout to his non-showbiz girlfriend who he is currently staying with.

"I thank my partner for offering me refuge when I was a refugee escaping the Philippines before I had been put down on lockdown," he says.

Migo recently opened up about spending another Father's Day apart from his dad who lives in Australia.

While in Hong Kong, he also shot an exclusive video for GMA Telebabad series Anak Ni Waray Vs. Anak Ni Biday where his character Cocoy apologizes to Ginalyn (Barbie Forteza) and Caitlyn (Kate Valdez), two ladies whose hearts he broke.
