It was time to say goodbye.

Former senator and showbiz legend Ramon Revilla Sr. was finally laid to rest yesterday, July 2, in his home province, Cavite.

The actor-turned-politician succumbed to heart failure on June 26. He was 93.

The Senate paid tribute to Revilla Sr. and held a necrological service on Wednesday, July 1. He first entered the Senate in 1992 and served two terms as a senator.

Meanwhile, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. said on Facebook that his father's final resting place is at the Angelus Eternal Garden.

The younger Revilla also penned a touching message for his daddy, whom he considers as his “hero.”

“Daddy, you are now with Mommy Cena. Pakiyapos at paki-halikan naman po siya para sa amin. Although it is very painful, alam kong sa pagpapalaki mo sa amin, everything will be okay.

“Daddy, we love you very much. We miss you already. You are a hero... you are my hero. Love you.”

Cavite vice governor Jolo Revilla also shared a moving tribute for his Daddy Ramon on Instagram.

“Kaya't paalam muna, Daddy. Lagi ka sa aming gunita... hanggang sa ating muling pagkikita.
