Arnold Vegafria defends Jinkee Pacquiao from Agot Isidro's remark

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Miss World Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria defended Jinkee Pacquiao from actress Agot Isidro after the latter said that Jinkee's “his and hers” luxury bikes post was insensitive and even described the move as “#nouveau.”

Agot addressed the Pacquiao matriarch on Twitter, “Alam namin na marami kayong pera. At kung ano ang gusto ninyong gawin sa pera na 'yun, wala kaming pakialam.

“Pero marami rin ang walang trabaho at nagkukumahog humanap ng pera para ay pakain sa kanilang pamilya. Pueda ba, konting sensitivity man lang? #noveau.”

As of this writing, Agot's post has already garnered more than 20,000 Likes and 5,000 Retweets with netizens debating over the issue.

This led the Miss World National Director to address the issue on his personal Instagram account by asking the actress, “What's your issue, Agot?”

Arnold detailed, “What Jinkee posts on her Instagram page is not for us to judge.

“What she does with her family's hard-earned money is none of our business, because such bountiful blessings are just the fruit of her husband's esteemed legacy as an iconic Filipino boxing legend and businessman, and are not stained in any way by graft or corruption.

“Jinkee has also worked her way up as a smart and prudent businesswoman with several investments under her good name.”

He added that despite their many businesses, the Pacquiao couple always makes sure to give back to charity.

“You probably have no idea as to the extent by which the good Senator, Manny Pacquiao, and his family have done so much to help our countrymen, not just during the past three months during the height of the pandemic, but even way before when he was still working hard to achieve his iconic stature.

“You probably don't see or hear much about it because they are not the types to brag about their noble and charitable deeds for other people to see.

"They would rather do their humble acts of generosity away from the eyes of the media or the glare of the spotlight.”

To conclude his post, Arnold advised Agot to be more discerning when using the word “nouveau,” especially when the parties involved have worked so hard to “achieve their current standing in society.”

Adding, “Despite their status, they have remained humble, low-key, and generous to whoever asks for their help.

“Their fervent desire to serve their countrymen continues to inspire them to pursue higher education and excel in their public service endeavors. #justsaying #unityinunderstanding”

“Do not judge”

Following her viral tweet, Agot noticed an influx of comments defending Jinkee that led her to reiterate that sensitivity does not equate accountability.

“Sensitivity ≠ Accountability. Iba po 'yun. Ktnxbye.”

Although she has not directly addressed the issue, Jinkee Pacquiao posted a cryptic message on her Instagram stories quoting the Bible verse of Matthew 7: 1-6 that states, “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others.”
