Johnny Depp denies attacking Amber Heard in the Bahamas; sues British tabloid

By Bianca Geli

Hollywood actor Johnny Depp has denied attacking his ex-wife Amber Heard while undergoing detox from prescription drugs on his private island in the Bahamas in August 2014.

Johnny is suing News Group Newspapers, the publisher of British tabloid Sun, along with executive editor Dan Wooton because of an article labeling him as a wife-beater.

During his second day in the witness box at the high court in London, the 57-year-old actor faced allegations that he assaulted his ex-wife repeatedly in the course of their four-year relationship.

The libel case is expected to last three weeks and is on its fourth day as of writing. Amber submitted details of 14 occasions during their relationship where she was assaulted by her husband.

He allegedly attacked Amber when she withheld his medication while he was supposed to be on detox in his private Caribbean island.

However, Johnny denied ever hitting her.

In August 2014, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor went to his Little Hall's Pond Cay property with his then-fiancée for his pre-wedding detox, according to the Daily Mail.

Johnny married the Aquaman and The Danish Girl actress in February 2015, but she filed for divorce just after 15 months.
