Lyn Ching on 'new normal' on the set of 'Unang Hirit': 'It's a jarring reality...'

After months of staying at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Unang Hirit host Lyn Ching was finally back on the set of the Kapuso morning show, and noticed significant changes since the last time she was there.

The long-time Kapuso host wrote her observation about the "new normal" on Unang Hirit last Monday, July 13, on Instagram.

Lyn said, “It's our first day back in the @unanghirit studio and i have to admit, it's not the same... i commend our producers for doing their best to keep all of us safe by enforcing new rules and changes to our set itself [as is obvious with our acrylic dividers between each section].

“We are surrounded by the same people but it can't be like what it was when we are, in practicing physical distancing, not able to even stand near each other.”

She also related to her followers her conversation with her husband about going back to GMA Network, which she considers as her second home, despite the circumstances.

“It's a jarring reality to be faced with. But as i told my husband, GMA has been my 2nd home for more than half my life so no matter what, i'm happy to be back there again despite the circumstances. Everyday, there is somethjng to be thankful for.

“Stay Safe. Stay Healthy. Stay Hopeful.”

On another post, Lyn also discussed the strict social distancing protocol being implemented on the morning show.

Although she knows that this measure is for their protection, the Unang Hirit host admitted that she misses the “chika time” with her colleagues on the set.

“Physical distancing is easier said than done, especially when there is a specific number of people assigned to use a specific amount of space. Now that all that is out the window, we have had to adjust by utilizing space at work that had other purposes.

“But i'm not complaining. Having breathing room is actually a gift if you choose to look at it that way. I do like having more space.”

“I just miss the chika time we used to have while having ourselves done.

"It's a matter of perspective really. Still, i am thankful for being blessed with good health and a job i still love after 26 years. Life is good.
