Iya Villania takes a week off work to focus on her newborn, Baby Alana Lauren

By Felix Ilaya

Prior to giving birth to her new baby, Iya Villania joined members of the press for an online conference to talk about the new episodes of Mars Pa More starting this July 27.

During the media conference, a member of the press asked Iya--who was then about to give birth to her third child--how she will balance hosting the show while taking care of her baby.

"Well that's the beauty of working from home! Kung nagpapadede ako ngayon, 'di n'yo naman makikita 'di ba?" Iya joked.

Iya said that she requested for a week off after giving birth to be present during her baby's first few days. Afterwards, she's ready to get back to work and resume her duty as one of the hosts for Mars Pa More.

"Nakakatao 'eh. Parang this is such a nice opportunity to reconnect with other artists, with Camille, with my Mars, with the staff. So parang 'di na ako nakakalabas, okay na ito, I'm already in the comfort of my own home. I'll still be able to mother my own children, I can breastfeed. We can easily adjust to the demands of my baby-to-be. So I think it's very doable, we'll see," she said.

Another member of the press asked Iya if she had any concerns regarding her health since she was about to give birth in the middle of a pandemic

"'Nung una, siguro bandang March or April, I was very positive na come July, kapag nanganak ako, wala na 'to. Cut to July na, mas madami 'yung na-confirm [na cases]. Wala 'eh, at that time, I was still very 'Wala na 'yan, I'll be safe when it's my turn.'

"Now that we're here, I try not to let it get the best of me. I don't wanna worry. I believe that I'm not the only mom that is giving birth in the hospital so I'm quite positive that they're in control of that situation in the hospital, that everyone is doing their part to protect themselves and their families. Feeling ko naman, by this time, gamay na nila kung ano 'yung proseso para maging safe ako at para maging safe pa 'yung ibang nanay na manganganak."

Now that Baby Alana Lauren is around, the Arellano household is about to get busier and happier!

Watch out for the return of Mars Pa More on GMA, starting this July 27, mornings at 8:45 AM.
