K-pop singer Lee Hi is making a huge comeback at the release of her latest digital single “HOLO.”
The single and music video follows after she signed with her new label AOMG, after leaving YG Entertainment last December.
AOMG is a hip-hop and R&B label founded by Jay Park in 2013 and has signed artists like Simon Dominic, Gray, LOCO, Code Kunst, and so much more.
“HOLO” marks the idol's return to the music scene after a year and a half since her mini-album “24℃”
According to reports, the latest single was written by An Shinae who previously worked with her in the song “Hold My Hand.”
The lyrics feature a message of consolation and overcoming a period of loneliness.
To promote the upcoming single, Lee Hi appeared in 1theK's “Look Me Up” where she scoured the internet to see what fans think about her.
In one of the segments, she reacted at how fans described her as “the biggest victim of YG's system” and a “prime example of YG's careless management of solo artists.”
She denied the said allegations and clarified, “I was a singer who had just debuted, but YG was really supportive. They invested in me a lot and promoted me well.
“There are a lot of singers in YG and it takes at least two months to prepare promotions for one singer, which means only five singers can be promoted every year.
“I hope you don't misunderstand.”
She then stumbled upon the site The Qoo where fans react to some of her songs including “Breathe” which was written by SHINee member, the late Jonghyun.
She commented, “Many people said that they were comforted by the song and I was comforted by that [idea].
“My heart aches too [knowing that he's gone].
“After he passed away, I was not sure if it'd be okay for me to sing the song.
“I was devastated. I was not sure if I'd be able to sing this song live again.
“But I hope many people get comfort from this song.”
