Makoto Shinkai's hit anime film 'Weathering with You' has made it's way to streaming giant Netflix.
Weathering with You, writer and director Makoto Shinkai's 2019 hit animated film is finally coming to Netflix!
The romantic fantasy anime film is set to premiere on the streaming giant on July 31.
Weathering with You tells the story of Hodaka Morishima, a young man who runs away from his rural hometown and finds himself in Tokyo.
In the city he meets Hina Amano, a mysterious girl who seems to be able to control the weather.
The film proved to be a hit with both audiences and critics worldwide. In Japan alone, it has earned $127 million in the box office.
It was also selected as the Japanese entry for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards but unfortunately did not make the shortlist.
The animated film has also won awards such as Best Animated Feature Film at the 13th Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Best Music at the 74th Mainichi Film Awards, Best Director at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2020 and a few others.
Makoto Shinkai's other commercial and critical hit anime film Your Name, which was released in 2016, is also available for streaming on Netflix.
