Chynna Ortaleza amazes Cherie Gil, netizens with 'That Which Isn't' monologues

Kapuso actress Chynna Ortaleza amazed her acting masterclass mentor Cherie Gil as her improved acting skills have surpassed the latter's expectation.

It can be remembered that Chynna joined Cherie's acting masterclass which was launched earlier this month.

To give an update, the actress shared the evaluation she got from Cherie in two of her “That Which Isn't” monologues.

The assessment was pretty much on the positive note and Chynna couldn't be happier with the result of her pieces as Cherie noted that she was amazed and shocked by the actress' skills.

She wrote, “I have always looked up to Cherie Gil Eigenmann. I remember messing up in front of her when I was new in the industry. I had one line & buckled in the scene because I was so overwhelmed by her presence. She told me to relax!

“I promised myself the next time I'd get a chance to work with her, I would do better! So fast forward to Magic Palayok where we played Kookoo Sisters.. that was fun & because I was acting with her for a whole season, I learned so much! So when I saw that she would be teaching a masterclass. I knew I had to join.”

Chynna also posted her two “That Which Isn't” monologues and both drew positive feedback from netizens.

Many said that they got emotional watching Chynna's piece while some noted that they have been a believer of her capabilities as an actress long before.

I believe the biggest breakthroughs come from conquering your fears. I invested in myself this season & made sure to do it on the 29th of June. My Papa's birthday. I hope your Happy Gryk! Your girl is growing some balls. FINALLY! I have always looked up to Cherie Gil Eigenmann. I remember messing up in front of her when I was new in the industry. In the scene, Helen, is describing her aging Mother's home. First Version was coming from a very present state of being. Second Version was done with added character requirements & circumstances from Cherie. All I can say is she reminded me how powerful an Actor is. Meanwhile, Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza likewise attended Cherie's acting masterclass. She even called her mentor the coolest teacher.

Cherie's acting masterclass took place last July 9, 11, 14, 16, and 18. Its proceeds will be for the benefit of the Lumads and the children of Mindanao.
