GMA surpasses 40 million subscribers on YouTube

August is a great month for the Kapuso network because its YouTube accounts -- GMA Network, GMA Public Affairs, GMA News, GMA Playground, GMA Artist Center, Brgy LS FM 97.1, Wowowin, and other GMA managed channels -- have collectively surpassed 40 million subscribers.

It's primary channel, GMA Network has exceeded its 10 million subscriber mark last May 15, 2019.

In July, the network received its first Diamond Play Button with YouTube executives Vishal Sharin and Pablo Mendoza.

According to GMA's Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L Gozon, he is elated to receive such a prestigious award.

“Of course we are very gratified that GMA has reached the 10 million mark. That's quite an achievement and that translates to growth. It's about our continuous growth year after year.

“That's enough reason for us to be really gratified and happy.”

This April, GMA-7 became the first Philippine network to reach two 10 million YouTube subscribers with GMA Public Affairs.

The two channels house the network's award-winning programs such as Encantadia, Dear Uge, My Husband's Lover, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, i-Witness, Front Row, and so much more.

As of this writing, GMA Network and GMA Public Affairs have 18.5 and 11.5 million subscribers, respectively.

The network's 3rd channel, GMA News, is not far behind with almost 7 million subscribers while hit game show Wowowin has about 4.8 million subscribers.

Meanwhile, GMA's channel for kids, GMA Playground, is nearing its 1 million subscriber mark.

Other GMA-managed channels such as GMA Playlist, GMA Artist Center, Brgy. LS 97.1, YouLol, StarStruck, The Clash, and My Guitar Princess have already managed to surpass 600,000 subscribers in total.
