Yasmien Kurdi prays for the victims of the Lebanon explosion

Filipina-Lebanese actress Yasmien Kurdi was deeply saddened after seeing the news of the huge explosion that rock Lebanon's capital Beirut.

According to reports collated by GMA News Online, the epicenter of the explosion happened in the port, which was caused by the highly explosive ammonium nitrate stored in a warehouse.

As of writing, 4,000 people got injured and at least 78 people were killed.

In addition, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) citing the Philippine embassy in Beirut reported that two Filipinos died from the explosion, while eight were wounded.

Yasmien asked her followers to pray for the victims of this horrible incident.

She added that the tragedy is too hard to bear, especially since their own family is still suffering from the death of her grandmother Teyta Laila Maamari Kurdi.

The Kapuso actress is the daughter of Mohammad Ezzedine Kurdi, a Lebanese who lives in Kuwait.

She posted on Instagram, “It's a shocking and sad news... Please #PrayForLebanon ... nalulungkot ako kasi kakamatay lang din ng Lola ko na Lebanese... malungkot pa yung family... tas eto ngayon ang nangyari.

“We hope and pray that our relatives and friends in #Beirut are all safe. We pray for all the casualties, and for the Country.

“This is a difficult time for all of us and the only powerful tool we have now are our prayers. #PrayForBeirut 🇱🇧 #NationalDayOfMourning.”
