Patuloy na nagpapagaling sa National Kidney and Transplant Institute ang batikang action star na si John Regala. Ito ang kinumpirma ng kanyang mga kaibigan sa showbiz na sina Nadia Montenegro at Chuckie Dreyfus.

Sa report ni Cata Tibayan sa 24 Oras, sumailalim na ang dating action star sa arthrocentesis, isang procedure kung saan tinatanggal ang fluid sa kanyang tuhod.

Stable na si John pero iniinda niya pa rin ang sakit ng kanyang tuhod at gout.

Saad ni Chuckie, “Right now talaga, he's in a lot of pain. Apart from his liver and kidney problems, which are barely functioning already, he also has gout.

“Lagi siyang nagko-complain sa sobrang sakit.”

Tumutulong na rin kay John ang kanyang unang asawa na si Aurina Alvarez Manansala-Hunt, na ngayon ay naka-base na sa Amerika.

Kuwento niya, “Makikita mo pa rin na talagang gusto niya pa talagang ring lumaban, ngayon, a.”

“Kasi before talagang malungkot na siya, e. So ever since non, two to three days, almost one week, iyak ako nang iyak.

“Noong napasok na siya sa ospital two days ago, sabi ko, 'Lakasan mo loob mo.'”

Sa Instagram post naman ni Nadia, sinabi niyang stable na ang liver ni John, base sa obserbasyon ng doktor.

“According to John's doctor, his liver is stable. Severe gout is also one of John's problems right now,” sulat ni Nadia.

“Please keep on praying for John's health and recovery.”

‼️UPDATE #5 ON JOHN REGALA'S CURRENT CONDITION (as of August 7, 2020) Yesterday, John underwent arthrocentesis (used a needle to aspirate fluid from the right knee). Doctors submitted the fluid for tests to check if knee is infected or not. If test results show that his knee is not infected, John can receive steroids for joint pain. John is currently still taking antibiotics. For John's pain, he is undergoing pain management on board with anesthesiologists taking care of the pain medications that can be given to him as of the moment. When doctor made his rounds this morning, these were his observations: Awake; slurred speech (from previous stroke) Pain bilateral knee Fair appetite No fever; no cough No difficulty of breathing no chest pain No abdominal pain No jaundice (yellow coloring of the skin) Presently, we are awaiting remaining tests from the fluid taken from John's knee to determine if it is safe to administer steroids. Also, according to John's doctor, his liver is stable. Severe gout is also one of John's problems right now. Awaiting further updates and if (and when) he is scheduled for more tests. Please keep on praying for John's health and recovery. We will continue to update everyone on John's condition and hopeful improvement. Para matulungan ang mga gastusin ng dating aktor, gumawa na ng fund-raising efforts sina Nadia, Chuckie, Aster Amoyo, at Film Development Council of the Philippines chairperson Liza Diño-Seguerra.

Noong June, nakuhanan ng litrato si John na payat na payat habang nasa loob ng jeep sa Pasay City.

Kinumpirma sa GMA News ni John na siya ang nasa larawan at nakunan ito habang hinihintay niya ang isang nurse na magbibigay sa kanya ng gamot para sa liver cirrhosis.
