TREASURE announces dance cover contest for 'Boy'

Newly-debuted South Korean boy group TREASURE has opened a challenge to their fans.

The group has announced that they will be holding a dance cover contest for their debut song "Boy."

Fans who will participate in the contest will even have a chance to win a generous cash prize.

Across their social media accounts, TREASURE has announced the mechanics for the contest.

Participants must film a full length dance cover of "Boy" and upload the video to YouTube with the appropriate hashtags.

They must also fill out an application form provided by TREASURE's label YG Entertainment.

The contest will run from August 11 to August 31 while the winner will be announced on September 4.

The videos will be judged by people from YG Entertainment which will comprise 50% of their total score. The other 50% will depend on the number of views the video will have by the end of the contest's run.

The grand pirze winner will receive a cash prize of 5 millon KRW, while second place will get 3 million KRW. Meanwhile, third place will recive 2 million KRW.


"Boy" is the title track of TREASURE's first single album 'The First Step: Chapter One.'



The song features strong EDM beats and talks about being dazzled by a girl and asking her to open her heart.

Members Choi Hyun-suk and Haruto participated in writing the lyrics of the song.

The group has recently dropped a dance practice video for "Boy" where they showcased their powerful dance moves and highlighted the complex and dynamic choreography of the song.
