TREASURE teaches fans how to do fan chant for 'Boy'

By Marah Ruiz

South Korean boy group TREASURE has prepared a special video for their fans.

Armed with cheering banners, the group demonstrated how to do the fan chant for their debut song "Boy."

Because of the limitations and safety requirements for large social gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the group has not had many chances to interact with their fans, collectively called Treasure Makers.

"We officially greet Treasure Makers with the release of 'Boy.' Due to the current situation, it's a shame we can't meet in person. Thinking what we can do instead, we wanted to show you're missed. And to give you strength, we bring our fan chant for 'Boy,'" leader Choi Hyun-suk says in the beginning of the video.

Boy" was released last August 7 and is the title track of TREASURE's first single album 'The First Step: Chapter One.'

The song features strong EDM beats and talks about being dazzled by a girl and asking her to open her heart.

Members Choi Hyun-suk and Haruto participated in writing the lyrics of the song.

The group has also launched a dance cover contest for "Boy" which will run from August 11 to 31.
