Jose Mari Chan gives pandemic-related twist to hit song 'Christmas In Our Hearts'

To celebrate the the arrival of the “ber” months in 2020, morning show Unang Hirit invited Filipino singer-composer Jose Mari Chan as their guest on the first day of September.

But unlike his previous guest appearances, where he performed at the Unang Hirit studio, the King of Filipino Christmas Carols entertained the talk show hosts and viewers with a heartwarming performance from home.

And since the country is still grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic, Jose Marie Chan made a relevant yet entertaining twist on his well-loved tracks “Christmas In Our Hearts” and “A Perfect Christmas.”

Moreover, during his guest appearance, the singer was asked why his song, which was released in the '90s, is still appreciated and celebrated today.

He answered, “I think it's because the song has a very catchy melody, very easy to hum, to learn. And then, the message is clear that it's the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“He's the only Mr. Christmas. I'm just the little drummer boy that heralds the season.”
