Michelle Dee to release a book post-Miss World Philippines reign
Glow Up host and beauty queen Michelle Dee recently reflected on her reign as Miss World Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the 5'7” beauty, she felt disappointed to have all her plans take a back seat due to the threat of the virus.
“Sobrang sayang talaga,” she told fans during a Kapuso Brigade ZOOMustahan session.
“You know, I had so many plans for my advocacy.
“Magpapatayo kami sana ng chapters in other parts of the Philippines na malamang hindi namin puwedeng gawin muna ngayon. We also had projects with some brands that were on hold which I'm sad about.
“But, throughout this quarantine, I do what I can to use my platform and raise awareness to certain causes.
“I am also working with WWF and other advocacies to really help awareness to help get help to the hands of the people who need it.”
When asked about her plans in the remaining months she has left as the titleholder, Michelle is positive that she'll continue her plans even without the crown.
“I guess should be proud to say that I'm the first queen with two years in my bag kasi 2019 until 2020 ako.
“But, as I've said even before nanalo ako as Miss World Philippines na, a true beauty queen by heart is measured by the good things that they can do after her reign. Kasi 'di lang dapat 'yun nalilimit within your reign kasi you're advocating for the things you believe in. So dapat hanggang after your reign, you're still working on what your cause.
“So for me, 'yung mga wino-work on ko now you can expect na gagawin ko pa rin afterward.
“In terms of my career, I am releasing something! I don't want to add too many details but it is something I am working on that is close to my heart.
“I'm working on a book because I want to help people around me motivate themselves into finding their best versions and also for the remaining months, we'll see.
“As you've said, a few months from now will be Miss World 2021. Hindi pa natin alam kung super confirmed na 'yung date na 'yun but let's just take it day by day and see where it goes.
“So far my reign has been qua-reign-tined.”
